Hi, Neighbor!

A letter from Rev. Jessica Means

Hi there,

I’m Rev. Jessica Means, and I’m so glad you scanned the card we left with your coffee. I’ve lived in Jacksonville for 15 years, and I’m grateful to be part of a church right here in San Marco—especially one like South Jacksonville Presbyterian.

When I first started serving here in 2024, what surprised me most was just how earnestly warm and welcoming this community is. Every friend who has come to visit says the same thing—it’s real, and it’s rare.

Years ago, when I first moved to Jacksonville, I lived in San Marco. It’s been so much fun to return and see how much the neighborhood has grown and changed. It feels more vibrant than ever. Our church has changed too. We’re no longer focused just on what happens inside our walls. We want to be a true part of this neighborhood—a church for the community, not just in it.

That’s why we’re offering free yoga classes in our sanctuary, art workshops and community conversations, and eventually—when our new building opens—much more. We’re hosting gatherings where we talk honestly about how to live well together in a complicated world. We believe that thoughtful civic engagement and shared curiosity are part of a faithful life.

Whether you’re looking for a place to connect, a quiet space to reflect, or just a neighborhood church that’s genuinely glad to see you—you’re welcome here.

Take a look around this page to explore upcoming opportunities, and if you’d like to stay in the loop, we’d love for you to sign up for occasional email updates.

With warmth,
Rev. Jessica Means

Coffee with a Purpose

The coffee we’re sharing comes from Bitty & Beau’s, right here in San Marco—a coffee shop that celebrates and employs people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It’s more than a great cup of coffee—it’s a small way to support a big mission we care deeply about: inclusion, dignity, and community for all.

Come Say Hello!

Rev. Jessica holds office hours at Bitty & Beau’s every Tuesday from 10–11 a.m. It’s a great time to grab a cup of coffee and chat—about life, faith, or anything on your mind.
