What we’ll do with it:
Our Sunday service starts at 10:30 a.m. Most people arrive between 10:00 and 10:15 to grab coffee, settle in, and say hello to friends.
When you walk in, you’ll be greeted at the door and handed a bulletin. You’ll see a mix of ages, and a room that holds both conversation and quiet. Worship begins with music, scripture, prayer, and a steady rhythm that welcomes participation without putting visitors on the spot.
If you prefer to watch first, you can also join us online through the livestream.
Worship: Sundays at 10:30 a.m.
Adult Sunday School: Offered at 9:00 a.m.

Children aren’t a side note at SJPC. They’re part of how we worship, and Sunday mornings are more joyful and more vibrant when they’re here.
For our youngest children through elementary school, we offer Sunday School during worship. Kids are also encouraged to stay in the sanctuary with their families, and to sit close enough to see and hear what’s happening. You’ll find kid-friendly ways to participate, including simple instruments like shakers and maracas, along with a prayground space designed to help children engage in worship with their whole selves.
If you grew up in church, worship here may feel familiar in the best ways. You’ll hear an organ, spoken prayers, and congregational responses. You’ll also notice a grounded tone, and space for humor and honest reflection.
Pastors Adam and Jessica take scripture seriously and preach from the text. Sermons also connect with the world we live in now, and invite you to think, question, and respond.
Visitors are welcome to take communion. We see the table as a sign of God’s grace, and a place where you don’t have to earn your way in.
We typically celebrate communion monthly, and on special Sundays like Easter and Pentecost.
If you fill out the Plan Your Visit form or a welcome card on Sunday, you’ll receive an automatic email with a few helpful links and what’s next. Then someone from SJPC will reach out once early in the week to say thanks for coming and answer any questions—unless you let us know you’d prefer not to be contacted.
If you’re looking for connection, we’ll help you find a natural place to start. If you’re still deciding, you’re welcome to take your time.
SJPC is part of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), a Reformed tradition that values thoughtful faith, shared leadership, and a commitment to the public good.
Our life together is shaped by worship, scripture, and community. You’ll also hear us talk about Matthew 25, which names a clear calling to serve neighbors who are hungry, excluded, or pushed to the margins.
If you’re new to church, you don’t need to know Presbyterian language to belong here.
Whatever helps you feel comfortable. You’ll see a range.
Our membership is around 325. On a Sunday, that means you can participate quietly, or you can start meeting people at your own pace.
Most visitors come through a friend or neighbor, or they find us online while searching for a church in Jacksonville.
If you’re interested, tell one of our pastors. We offer New Member Sundays a few times each year, and we’ll help you find a place to connect in a way that fits you.
